Navigate is proud to be delivering the Equal Access to Promotion (EAP) on behalf of the National College for School Leadership. The programme is jointly developed and commissioned by the National Union of Teachers (NUT) and the National College. The core purpose of EAP is to address the professional development needs of black and minority ethnic (BME) teachers in middle leadership and to provide support for them to move on to senior leadership roles. Any aspiring leader with Qualified Teacher Status is eligible for the programme.
The aim of the EAP programme is to enhance participants' leadership strengths and extend their strategies for overcoming barriers to leadership and promotion. The programme is spread over six months, which includes a two day residential event held at the National College in Nottingham. The programme is delivered via a combination of face-to-face school-based activities and online elements with support from experienced BME mentors. Applications for the programme are welcomed and due to close December 2nd 2011.
The first Navigate cohort of participants on the programme is now reaching completion with excellent results. As a result of the course, mentor support and the facilitated leadership development activity, participants have been inspired to progress to a more senior position with some already securing promotion.
The programme is free for all participants. If anyone would like a conversation about the programme or details of how to register interest and apply please contact Adam Brett on 0844 800 5300.
Please see the attached information flyer for further information or visit the Colleges website.
The EAP programme begins in January 2012 with a Residential event (Held at the National College Conference Centre in Nottingham) on 15th - 17th March 2012 and is completed by June 2012.
